Boss (the wife) says I can start looking!

Post by blahblahblah »

The "Better Half" gave her blessing, says that I can start looking for an every-other weekend Spider so here I be. Haven't planted my butt in a Fiat seat for 20 plus years and almost 80 pounds ago. Should give the neighbors a chuckle or two. I'll be lurking here from time to time. Wish me luck.

welcome! That's great that you've earned some play time. Are you looking for a project or something complete? Any preference as to year?

Thanks! Will be looking a driver with "potential", realistically priced. 1981 preferred but any year will do if the price is right.

Hello and welcome - like your handle!

If you're out and about this weekend, there's an all-Italian car show at Head House Square downtown on Sunday. Should be several Spiders there. Maybe get a few ideas on a mutually-agreeable color combination and perhaps spot a car or two for sale.

Good Luck! Let us know what you find.

I can identify with your story. My better half agreed last year to my getting a Spider after 20+ years. I think she is happy with the decision, I'm out in the garage most of the time now, not underfoot in the house. Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your search.

Why do you prefer the '81 specifically? Is it for sentimental reasons (owned one in the past) or is there a reason you like that particular model? I'm looking too and trying to figure out which year I might prefer.

Planning on popping over to the show in Philly this Sunday for an hour or two. Preference for an '81 would be purely sentimental.

Sorry I'll miss you at the show. This was to be (1973) Gina's debut, but 97° forecasted. Don't want to make my wife's first show an ordeal, speaking of spouse approval.
