reverse noise from manual tranny
I had my tranny out to replace the clutch assembly, since the disc was stuck to the flywheel when I bought it last year (I have never driven this car up until yesterday). I pulled the tranny cover to look inside and all looked good. I know the 5th and reverse are in the rear and couldn't inspect those without teardown. Before and after tranny remove and replace, there is a clicking or tin rotating noise in reverse. Almost like as it rotates, it hits on a piece of tin or something. I read in another post it is bad to drive wheels off ground, so I was hoping the noise wouldn't be there once I got it on the ground to see if it goes away. It initially sounded like it was coming from up front by the tranny and not rear end or anywhere else in between . Any clues as to what it could be? Thanks.

Ok, I read an old post that mentioned the shifting forks can bend and make noise. I'm thinking this may be a real possibility. I would love to hear from someone who has more experience with this tranny than I have.
