1975 Spider Owner

Hi everyone,

I live in North County (San Diego area) and I have owned a 1975 model 124 Spider for close to a year now.

I got it from an old friend of mine. I guess I lucked into that deal because he wasn't able to get it running and had to move so I helped him get it started and kind of wound up with it that way. I thought they were a cool little cars but never seriously looked into buying one.

I get the feeling this one has just been sitting around, not driven for most of its life. It has been maintained (I have some records including the original owner's warranty booklet). Anyway I have been replacing many little things along the way (belts, upholstery, even a transmission) and I now have the car to a state where I can drive it around comfortably. I still have a lot of work to do since its age is showing.

Anyway, from what I have read, it looks like there is helpful group here. I also post to the http://WWW.NAXJA.ORG forum (its for Jeeps) which is a good group as well.

I guess I'll hear from everyone at some point.

You did get lucky! These cars are great fun. As he said, fiatS2000 lives down by you, and he's a member of our SoCal FLU chapter. He joins us when we have a function, you guys should hook up and caravan up for them. We look forward to meeting you and seeing your car.

Carlsbad. I´m on the edge of it I guess. I live off Alga, right by where it hits Melrose so maybe not too far from you.
