Can anyone tell me how to unclip the bottom retainer ring that holds the shifter extension. My manual says to unclip it but does not say how. What kind of tool is used?

I found my speaker cover plates on Amazon, evev though Evey Audio person I spoke with said I would not find one. Its a 4 x 6 came in a package of two for $19.
