Engine Bay Pinch Weld Sections

Post by Broadsword »

I have recently acquired a 1970 spider and noticed it does not have any rubber seals under the bonnet / hood.
From viewing many photos of some spectacular cars on this forum, it looks like there should be one profile down each side, and then another under the edge nearest the windscreen.
Potentially both are the same rubber section.
Is there a guide somewhere that describes the original profile?
There are a few places here in Melbourne that carry a range of pinch weld profiles, so there may be something available that matches or is close enough to do the job.
Thank you.

The side rails should use the same as the doors. The back one is year specific. you also should have one in front of the radiator. check out the AR website.

I did notice those on their website, but they seem generic where actual photos suggest different series of cars potentially have different sections perhaps?
I had the same issue on a previous car, and although the section looks the same, closing the bonnet down is a nightmare.
Might wait until I can have a close look at a complete car.
Thanks.
