I hope you were talkn' 'bout pictures of the dash, Baz. Cuz, if so.... i am anxious to see what you've got.

and, our last may yet make it out of her teens. Her three sisters barely scraped by, but we too, allowed them to live as well. Now, i'm looking forward to being a PAPA again in June. that is where the real fun starts.

Very nice Baz. You even have a clear clock face. Is your rear view mirror cloudy, or just look that way in the picture. There's a trick to cleaning it if it is. Let us know if you need the secret.

Baz,

Where did you get the Volt/Amp gauge from ???? here in Oz.

Also did you source the chrome trim for the gauges from here or overseas ?

Thanks

Thanks for your comments, I sourced the amp/volt gauge by Googling 'Veglia' and found one for sale on Ebay, the chrome rings I got from Spiderpoint Europe, but they are also for sale from some very good suppliers in the USA. My rear vision mirror is clear but I'll take the tip anyway ! The pics are a little bit distorted and not quite as clear as they are in real life, but the cost of upgrade via my 16yo would have made me a shareholder in Maccas. My original centre piece included a reading light, 4 warning lamps wiper control (which I have on the steering column anyway) and a dimmer switch. All looked too busy !!

I'd like to know the trick to cleaning a cloudy mirror. Might save me some money. :D

Oh boy, oh boy, I get to share my "secret" again. Actually, it's common knowledge to long time owners. So common that no one talks about it. I found out by accident. The mirror surface has a clear cover (glass or platic) over it. Those two parts are held in place on the body of the unit with an outer snap-on trim piece. If you get your fingers on the back at the bottom of the trim piece and pry down it will separate. It has slots on it that go over tabs on the main body. Pull it off carefully, because the glass cover and mirror may want to fall out when the trim piece comes off. Now you can clean the mirror and the inside surface of the clear cover.
I had mine on the bench and was putting in an aftermarket mirror when I got curious how the day/night function worked. When I took it apart, viola! I hadn't been able to clean the mirror because of the clear cover over it!
