Transmission repair

From what I have read if your transmission needs to be repaired it is best to have a pro do the work than to try to do it your self, right? If so, does anyone know of anybody near Phoenix, AZ who would be good at repairing transmissions?

I believe any reputable transmission shop can do it. You can by replacement parts and gaskets from vendors on here if need be. My local shop says that they are the easy ones. That comming from folks that do this sort of thing every day tho.
