I started to replace my vinyl on my seats and realized my seat brackets had broken or worn out plastic shims. I would have to replace them for about $40. each. Instead, I fabricated new ones and wanted to share this with everyone in case you have the same problem.
seat brackets
Re: seat brackets
Once I made the shims using a scroll saw, they slid on the rivet and popped into place. Very tightly! I made them wide so they just fit under the outside cover which also helped from rotating. Works great!

Re: seat brackets
Brady, nice going! Is that lexan you used? I taught woodshop to 7th and 8th graders and the scroll saw was a fun tool for them to use. Very clever use you came up with. You got that pioneering spirit thing goin on. "Buy a new one? Hell no! Get out to the shop and make it."
Re: seat brackets
Yeah its lexan. When the hardware owner showed me the stuff, I wasn't sure if I wanted to use it . But, when he took out his hammer and hit it about four times to show me it was strong enough. I figured he knew what he was doing.
