Exhaust heat shields.

Hi all,
My 75 has a heat shield on the bottom of the passenger floor that prevents exhaust heat from soaking thru.
Do they do the same the earlier cars with the exhaust routed just right of center?

Only the cars with cats have the floorboard bump and heat shield.

My 71 ( no cat) has a heat shield in the right footwell.
