Hey All -
I've just finished replacing a fair amount of stuff around the front end (bushings, ball joints etc.), repainted components etc., marveled at the rot-free shock towers ( ) and did a general tidy up. Wheels back on, and guess what.... yes - I'd completely forgotten that the nice "streamlined" look cause by a general saggyness in the front end would be gone completely and with no front bumper to weigh down the front end, it looks about 1"-2" too high.
While I was fumbling around down there I did notice that the shocks are about 6-12 months away from wanting to be looked at, but springs are good.
I can see that actually, I'm going to want to replace the front springs - and may as well do the shocks at the same time. As usual I've got in my mind that up-rating everything can not help but be a good thing. That said, I'm thinking of trying to keep to OE shocks - I like the ride!
Any recommendations from the Forum about replacement candidates?
Thoughts?
Cheers
Andy

Re: The Front End
I love the ride the Koni yellows have. I also put a 1" bar on the front.

I would go with AR's verible rate spring, Koni shocks and 1" front sway bar with a rear sway bar. Springs and shocks all the way around. You can use Kyb if the Koni's are to much. The Kyb's a nice replacement shock.
I am running red Koni's on the rear and Spax on the front with springs cut one coil, 1" front bar. I will be getting AR's variable rate springs and a rear sway bar when I can. This is on my 82. On the 81 which is an auto I have all stock with Kyb's.

Re: The Front End
Cheers Guys - I suspect I'll have to put some more thought cycles into this. Actually - I hadn't contemplated simply chopping the springs by an inch! Then I can wait until the decision on shocks is forced upon me, and replace both...
