Spindle nut washer

Post by FordPrefect »

A couple of quick questions: I just did my wheel bearings, and my manual mentions some snap rings to drop in after the bearings are in.

However, I don't think I have any, and the kit Vick's has in their online store doesn't appear to include any rings or clips (just bearing races), so should I just go with the seal?

Also, for some reason the spindle nut washer magically disappeared, so I just stuck on a spindle nut washer from autozone, but one end appears to be flat, instead of completely round. I'm pretty sure it should be completely round, save the tab on the inner part that fits in the spindle groove. I'm not sure if this flat part matters, but thought I'd ask.

Lastly, just staking that hub nut sure isn't confidence inspiring.

Ah, he's got a snap ring. I wonder if that's for every model, and why neither I nor Vicks has them.
