gasoline vapor filter
What is the gasoline vapor filter good for. Do I need it and if not what to do with the hoses after removing it? It's an Fi car with no emission regulations in MN.

It is generally felt that this is a "good" pollution control item, as it keeps vapours from going unburnt into the atmosphere. Might as well leave it, as it doesn't rob the engine of any power or performance, as far as I know. Unburnt fuel vapors are surprisingly high on the list of bad air pollution components.
