Just finished a ton of work on my '75 spider (timing belt and tensioner, alt. belt, hoses, plugs and plug wires, steering boxes topped-off, radiator boiled out, water pump, thermostat, all fluids - differential, tranny and of course engine plus filter) .
Started up nicely (needs timing adjusted, no biggie), and my nice fresh coolant started to puddle on the floor.
Best I can tell, it was coming from the intake manifold at the lower rear corner of it (pretty good amount coming out).
Didn't realize the intake manifold had coolant running around it, could I be wrong?
I have the manifold off now, and will order a new gasket before i reinstall. Any suggestions on what else I should do while I have access to that side of the motor? Carb is off and cleaned (32ADFA2).
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
Intake Manifold
Re: Intake Manifold
You may want to clean the vapor separator and check the hoses. Also check the steering box fluid level. Check the condition
of cables and wiring and terminals on the starter.
