Brake Booster master cylinder leak

Post by somatdad »

I have a brake fluid leak where the master cylinder attaches to the brake booster. Do I need to replace the brake booster? The master cylinder? or both. Is there a way to fix this?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

this usually means the front piston seal on the MC is leaking. seal kits are available. I've never had good luck with them as the metal surfaces are usually bad

So, may be time ahead to get new parts and be done with it. I doubt this mc or booster has ever been changed on this car since 1973. Do you think a rebuilt booster is an ok way to go? They are half the cost of the new one IAP sells.
