confusing engine block and head numbers

Post by deang »

I picked up a used engine from a '79 spider thinking I could use some parts on my '81 (need a new block).

The number on the head and block aren't on any list I've found. Also, the head doesn't have the extra emissions port I was expecting, just the 4 exhaust holes. The exhaust manifold does have the extra hole but it's been plugged.

Engine block #'s 132 DB 2A 0 - 4358114
Head #'s 32AB9A - 4277590

The engine looks almost unused but what is it?

Google the head and found this ebay link - says it is a 74- 76 head

This link on mirafiori.com

Does this help at least for the head?

That looks like the number cast into the side of the block, you need the numbers stamped into the flat machined area near the oil filter housing.
