The brake light switch on my '81 Spider is on the blink. I took it off and tested it, and 9 times out of 10 it's fine, but then gets a little sticky, so it looks like I need a new one. It looks like from all the photos that the ones now available do not come with the little black plastic cap that fits on the end after the switch is threaded in. Will the original cap fit over the aftermarket switches now available, and perhaps more important, is it necessary or at least a good reason to reinstall (it was a pain just trying to fish it out)?

Re: Installing brake light switch
9 out of 10 good tests does not make a bad switch. if a sticky plunger is the issue, try some silicone spray lube on the moving parts and see if that cures your ills.
