Ball bearing or rollers on seat track
Ball bearing or rollers on seat track
Was cleaning the driver seat track (seat adjustment lever) and two ball bearing thingies fell out. Tried to put them back in but they continued to fall out. Are these needed for the seat track to be functional? I don't want to have to buy a new (used) driver seat track if I don't have to, but maybe I'll be forced to. Any advice would be great.
Re: Ball bearing or rollers on seat track
Does it look the same on both rails of the same seat ?
I can't remember how it was on mine, but I think they are ball mounted.
Maybe some one forced the balls out once, lost them and replaced them with smaller ones ?

Re: Ball bearing or rollers on seat track
I had this problem in my ,82. Each side of the track has four balls and 2 rollers which themselves are grooved to hold a O ting for quieter running. The track ends are crimped to hold the balls in place so they need some persuasion to get them back in. Chris
