77 124 driveshaft bushing/bearing

Post by Rupesy »

I definitely need to replace this as I can move the driveshaft around quite a bit by hand and I can hear it thumping.

Do I just need to replace the bushing or do I need to replace both the bushing and bearing. It seems like a waste of time to just do the bushing only to find out you should have just done the bearing as well.

I did one of these on my BMW a long time ago and it wasn't too bad to do? Anything to watch out for when I go to do this?

Thanks,

Jon

major pain in the ass.
you need to dismantle central U-joint in order to replace rubber bushing/bearing.
definately change both while you're at it
