distributor springs

Post by donm »

How critical are the distributor springs? Should they be tight or loose? On the used distributor I just installed they seem to be of two different types; one's tight and they other loose. Is that the way they should be?

Sounds normal. If you have a dial back timing light, you can rev the engine and verify how much it's advancing and when.
