Speedo cable

When I installed the speedo cable, all went great, no issues at all
When I was installing the starter I did notice this small rubber seal on the cable, I suppose when I was pulling it thru it just slipped down and I never noticed it,where would that rubber seal go? Bottom,or top

firewall hole is where mine is... figured it was some attempt at protecting cable from a rough edge

What is the diameter of the seal you are asking about. There is a seal at the firewall as mentioned. However, there is another little seal that goes on the speedo line at the transmission mounting point. The little 1/2 inch seal helps prevent the very common transmission oil drip where the speedo line connects.

Ok thanks I know where it goes, it must have got hung up at the time and I never noticed it
