brake pedal return spring

Post by minimike »

Anyone have a keen way on how to reattach the return spring? I replaced the booster today, and disconnected the brake pedal return spring. I could not restretch it and get it in place. Instead, I took a key ring, the kind you pry open to get the key into and wind the key 1 1 /2 turns around and the ring closes. Used the key ring on the pedal box sheet metal, and stretched the spring on the ring. Done.

I wonder if you even need the return spring.

Maybe you don't have the right spring, bcs I never had trouble reattaching these by just pulling on one end with a flatblade screwdriver.

That would be my guess as well. I swapped my B booster a few weeks ago and the spring was not really difficult to put back on.

Now the clutch spring.... what a PIA..
