Car cover recommendations

Post by giuliot60 »

Hi all.

The winter months are coming to NC, and although I have a generic fabric dust cover and an exterior (silver) cover for the car that the PO had included with the car, I was thinking about investing in a better (and better fit) all-weather cover for the Spider that will protect it from the strong NC sun.

I do have a garage, but may have some resistance from my other half about keeping the car in it (and because of the other stuff that currently occupies it), so she may have to live outside for a while. :(

I found a Covercraft (http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/60A1012A0A0.aspx) and Coverking (http://www.buyautocovers.com/coverking- ... r-1555990/) for about the same price ($150 range).

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks. Do you have the brand and model number? I don't know if they would have the same stock here in the US though.

The "NOAH" cover that I use is pretty good. It can be found with an internet search. My car is not garaged (yet). :?

Yep, Its by Autotecnica
Model; Storm Guard ,fully waterproof Car Cover fitted with anti-condensation air breathers.
The one I have is size small and it fits perfect.
You could try Auto barn here in Aus order via Net or try through ebay (red & black box with a red Ferrari on the cover)
What I like about the cover is the bumf underlay good for minor protection from hail.

Cheers.

I have the fabric hood on mine, do you? if so I have found some of the covers with their soft under layer tend to leave fluff on the hood.... annoying to get off.

Thanks, Dean

No Vinyl,
Must admit have already removed the top frame for sandblasting and powder coating due to rust issues discovered while replacing it with canvas.
Should be an easy problem to solve just lay a pice of plastic or old bed sheet on your hood cut long enough to jam between the doors then the car cover over that done !
This will be my solution should there be need for it.
Cheers

Ok purchased a Noah car cover and can recommend. Does not leave fluff on the cloth hood and protects car from rain. Easy to take off and reinstate.

Only negative it does get dirty given its in the light grey cover and not particularly attractive looking.

I would recommend to purchase.
