accelerator pedal : any pad ?

Post by westy64 »

Hello,
on Prunette, there seems to be a missing part under the accelerator pedal, looking like an "end of course" pad stand.
it is equipped to receive a screw.
do you have this part on your car ?
who would have a picture showing how it is shaped and fitted ?
thanks in advance.

A cylinder. 'Bout the diameter of a quarter, about the length of 1 1/2 inches. I would guess you could come up with a lot of options that would work well. The main point is that you DO need something there or you are going to have throttle cable issues or problems with the "pedal arm assembly" (forgive me if I just made that term up).

Hope this helps.

thank you Dan
yes it does help as you confirm my thoughts.
I will take a picture of my pedal and the receiver, showing how they are misaligned.
even pushed down 100%, the pad seems too low to receive the pedal (hard to explain).
it should be higher on the firewall.
or the pedal is bent in a strange way.

Just noticed that first pic is upside down. Weird. Anyway, you do have that extra "arm" on the back of the pedal right? The pedal itself doesn't touch that stop, but that arm does.
