My windshield wipers seem to be a bit slow. Haynes manual says to lubricate the shafts with glycerine.
Is that the best bet, or can I use light machine oil?

Be sure to check the electrical connections for proper voltage at the motor, this is a common problem. And the dash rheostat comes into play too. Sometimes overlooked, ask me how I know.

Graphite on the rubber blades helps.Rascal wrote:My windshield wipers seem to be a bit slow. Haynes manual says to lubricate the shafts with glycerine.

On the rack you can disassemble, clean, and lubricate with lithium grease.
Frankly the issue with the wiper system isn't usually the rack but the age and weak-ass electronics leading to the motor.

Yeah, the speed control doesn't work. Does kinda sound like a bad connection issue.RRoller123 wrote:Be sure to check the electrical connections for proper voltage at the motor, this is a common problem. And the dash rheostat comes into play too. Sometimes overlooked, ask me how I know.

Re: Windshield wiper lubrication
Brad' is 100% correct about the electrical system.
just need to remember that the fiat wiper system only had 2 speeds
1. Slow
2 .Slower
Doing the brown wire fix will help, the addition of the 95A alt sped up my wipers a great deal
