Installing Seats
Can anyone give me some info on how to re-install the front two seats? I want to be sure that I am putting the correct parts on in the correct order.
Aren't there stops that need to be installed as well? Where do these go?
As much info as possible would be great!

Re: Installing Seats
Not sure what you mean.
The seat rails are attached to the seat bottoms. Then the rails attach to the floor supports using four bolts into the holes on the supports, there are captured nuts inside. I replaced the allen head bolts with conventional ones with metric heads. Much easier to install and remove with a 1/4 inch drive.
The seat rails have built in stops. Don't forget to lube the rails before installation.

Re: Installing Seats
when I took mine out I was informed to be careful to not lose or damage the recessed nuts that sit in the lower rails

I had no stops in my rails however, I did replace the bolts. I also would recommend to lube the seat guides and release mechanism.

Jay - Curious how much POR-15 it took to coat the floor? Will be doing mine soon.....once I figure out where that damned water is coming in from! Thanks.

FYI, my heater core is leaking somewhere and it is dripping onto my floor. Might be something to check...supplyguy wrote:once I figure out where that damned water is coming in from! Thanks.
Regarding the seats, thank you guys. I just jumped the gun on them and left out the little brackets. They seem to work fine. The belt setup is a little strange on the driver's side, but it is good enough for now.
White lithium grease on the tracks did wonders for the sliding!

Re: Installing Seats
Jay, How hard was it to get those seat bottoms put back on ? Still havn't fixed my drivers seat. All it needs is a little welding and repair but this has got me skeered.

Re: Installing Seats
I have never disassembled the seats. I simply took them out, removed the lower cushions then applied the POR-15

Re: Installing Seats
Yeah, 4uall and I did the same floor job at the same time. I did the seats the same way too.
You don't need more than a pint of POR, less really.
Insulate everything, especially the trans tunnel. I have no radiated cockpit heat anymore.

Re: Installing Seats
What did you end up using for insulation?
P.S. I hope nobody searches this topic expecting a discussion about seats...

Re: Installing Seats
I used a different insulation and I'm very happy with it. Easy to install and a great insulator. Here's my post on my floor job. Please forgive the self-promotion.
