Hi everyone - I'm Geoff and I come from South Australia and I'm the proud owner of a 1982 Spider. The vehicle was originally delivered into Palo Alto in California and came to Australia in 1989. It was converted to RHD in 89 and had a fair bit of resto work done then. I've owned it almost 2 years and just love to drive it in spring and autumn when it goes top-less. Once i work out how to attach a couple of photos I'll do that cause it is quite pretty.
Lately I've had a few probs with the EFI - it just runs rich then fouls the plugs and stops. Any advice gratefully received. I must say it is great to be part of this Spider family.

Cheers
Geoff

Welcome mate! check the resistance of the cooling sensor, if you check it at the computer, it should show the resistance of the circut. Should be between 2,000 to 3,000 ohms at cold engine, 70 degrees F. always check the oil level, you wouldnt want gas diluting the oil.

also check the vacuum hose to the pressure regulator. If the regulator leaks raw fuel will be drawn into the intake manifold and cause an extremely rich condition

Dear Racydave - thanks for both the welcome and the tip re the cooling sensor - i've just replaced it and this seems to have fixed the problem - i will though check the resistance. Cause my car has been converted to right hand drive (you know we drive on the other side out here) there seems to be lots of excess yards of wiring in the car - this might be part of the problem. Again thanks - Geoff SA
