Never heard of an "E" - sure it is not the M turned goofy and/or stamped poorly?

Measure them regardless. 2468M is a common type in our cars and I don't know what it means since 2468M is also available for Alfas, Ferraris, you name it. Your engine shop will cut the bores to the pistons, make sure they mark each one and each one is marked on the block so you can match them.
