Fuel line diameter

Post by blurple124 »

I am trying to replace the steel fuel line in my car with aluminum. I bought 25', which should be enough. Problem is the size of the stuff.

There were four fuel lines on my car (one supply was rotted, one was return, which was in use, but also rotted, one was vapor to the charcoal canister, which was recently removed, and the fourth is a mystery to me, so if anyone can help me with that, I would also like to know, but it has been used as the new supply line) Some of these lines were 5/16" dia, and some were 1/4".

The new line is 0.3" inside diamter! I can fit the old line inside the new line!

The question I have is, with a carbureted car like mine, does it really matter what side the fuel line is? I am using an electric fuel pump. If its specifications matter, I can find them. The engine is an unmodified 1800 with an ADFA.

There should only be two lines. One from the tank to the carb and one from the canister back to the tank.

Well that's all I'm hoping to have when I'm done here!

The real question is, will the large line I have do the job or should I buy different line?
