Replacing the power window motor

Post by dutchgeordie »

I've got myself a new motor for the electric window (driver side) on my 1980 Spider. I've taken all the stuff of the door, removed the cardboard bits covering the openings on the door and I've gone as far as removing the 3 small 8mm bolts holding the motor and drive unit in place inside the door. I'm sure I had to unfasten those bolts as there's no way to get to the 2 bolts attaching the motor itself to the bracket but I can't see how to carry on and still be able to put it back together. Maybe I should undo the screw attaching the wire to the window and remove the window? And then again maybe not.

Anyone can tell me how to replace the motor?
