flying a rebel flag emblem on a US Army hummer seems a bit anti-government. I can't imagine a German soldier wearing a swatstika and getting away with it

A recently deceased friend of mine had a picture he had taken when he was in Viet Nam. He hung a Confederate Battle Flag along the side of a truck. He was grinning from ear-to-ear. This guy kept a bullet-proof jacket under his desk, "In case anything breaks out!" He was a little different.
