Has anyone found a plug for the exhaust port to the EGR? I am looking for the correct diameter and threading to plug that hole. 1978 1.8L
Thanks

Re: Pipe Fitting
Hi,
I took an EGR valve off a manifold for a '74. It was 16mm x 1.5 pitch. I found one at NAPA but later saw more at Advance Auto where they have the display of oil plugs. They have a bunch of them and sure enough, there it was.
It was not fun getting that sucker out! Took quite a bit of work. I used a manual impact to drive it out. The hex-head bolt underneath is a 10mm if I remember correctly.
One other suggestion, wrap the plug with lots of teflon tape when you put it back in. This and the crush washer will ensure you do not have a vacuum leak.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
