No fuel -> replaced fuel pump -> still no fuel

Post by 124Fan »

The fuel pump on my '77 Spider is shot. While trying to start it, I noticed that the inline fuel filter remained completely dry.

I bought a new fuel pump, but it looks quite a bit different. The shape of the flipper arm is also different. I was skeptical, but they assured me that the pump works on a '77.

When installing it, I made sure that the it was leaned back to ensure that the flipper arm ended up on top of the aux shaft. No dice.

I've verified that the feed from the tank isn't blocked. Should this pump work? They told me it works with ALL 124 Spiders, but I'm starting to wonder if that's not the case.

Thanks,

Ok, checked international-auto.com and see that the fuel pump for the '72, '77, and the '79 all have different part numbers.

The lower mechanical pump in the photo is the one that works in my '75. The upper pump did not fit.
