Jumpy tach

Post by murphslaw »

I finally got around to replacing the magnetic pickup, distributor cap, rotor on my 80 Efi fiat. Now she runs very well though the tach jumps about 250 rpms at most rpms. I bought a vacuum advance though did not install as it was a little tough to get at. I will say the cover for the AFM is not well sealed. Also this was not a problem prior to it dying a month ago.
Any ideas?

Check the connections at the coil, that is the culprit a lot of times with tach jumping.Make sure those wires for the new mag pickup arent rubbing in the dizz.I almost ruined one like that.
