help switching back to fuel injection

Post by newmod »

The previous owner changed my 1981 spider2000 from fuel inj to carb. What would it take to put it back to fuel injection. I am sure it would be tough find everything. I don't have any of the parts.

A FI parts car would be a big help. You can certainly get all the parts here on this site. Also you should pick up a repair manual

I have some FI part if interested that will be available shortly.

I converted the FI system on the 82' to megasquirt with a new wiring relay. Some of the parts have moved on to new homes. However, I do have the ECU and wiring harness in a box someplace. The ECU is in great shape and came out of my car at 68,000 miles. The wiring harnes is what it is, functional. Right now the system is being tweeked for a more efficient engine producing better fuel economy. I expect the car will be in the 35 mph range with no loss of HP (138 - 145 to the wheels) very soon. If you are not in a hurry to obtain the FI parts I'll sell the harness and ECU to you in a few weeks when I know the system changes are functioning properly. She was running a littl rich previously. However, I am several thousand miles into this conversion and do not see the need to hold on to these parts if the most recent changes work out as I'm sure they will.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
