I've got a head that has a combustion chamber volume of 48cc, with slightly domed pistons in a 2 litre it gives me 10.5:1 static CR. I want to get the CR below 9:1, so a head with a larger combustion chamber may be a solution. The head number list on Mirafiori says the US spec 2 litre has the largest combustion chamber, to lower compression.

Does anyone know what the combustion chamber volume is on a US spec 2 litre head?

Re: 2litre combustion chamber volume?
what about a thicker head gasket?
if you not turbo or superchaging the motor, why would you want to decrease compression, all others including myself which I did increse it more when I had the chance, unless of course you are not running it N/A.

I'm back to wanting the supercharger fitted. The only way to get the CR down with the head I've got is by using a 2mm thick decompression plate, I'm looking at all options, but that's probably the way I'll go.

Re: 2litre combustion chamber volume?
The 2L head is typically 52 - 53 cc's per chamber.

Re: 2litre combustion chamber volume?
the us FI head have the same cc's as the 2L heads in AU no point in purchasing anything from here, 2L heads
are closer to 52.4 to .6 cc's and have better flow then the 1800 heads . What size domes are you working with
if its the large dome 8mm your CR will be higher then 9to1 .

Re: 2litre combustion chamber volume?
They're only 4mm dome, but the head I've got has 48cc chambers, static CR is around 10.5:1, fine for a hot atmo motor but way too high if I want to add a bit of puff.Daniel wrote:the us FI head have the same cc's as the 2L heads in AU no point in purchasing anything from here, 2L heads
