Well... won't start...
I drove the car to a friend's house to store it there while I worked on other things... 1 year and 8 months later I am trying to start the car to drive it back home and continue working on it... no such luck.
Car will crank but not run...
Leak in the fuel line... I cut the rusted part, used some fuel hose as a temporary fix. No more fuel leaks.
Car will crank but not run...
Checked fuel at fuel rail... when I disconnect the return line from under the fuel pressure regulator (I think that is what it is called), I can see fuel coming out as I engage the starter... so fuel at fuel rail and fuel pump working...
Car will crank but not run...
I poured some of that starting fuel/liquid... car starts and runs like a charm until that additive runs out... so timing, sparkplugs, ignition... all that is good and working fine
Car will crank but not run...
What is crazy is that I DROVE THE CAR TO HIS PLACE!!!!
I am going to stop by Autozone and get a thingy to check the fuel injectors pulse...
What else could I be missing??
Photo of my car in its current resting place... but I really want it back home so that I finish repairs, install carpet, install the top, and get it back on the road...

Re: Well... won't start...
I'm with Joe. The car sitting for a while could have bad gas. Someone posted a picture at one point of a gas tank all gummed up. how much gas is in the car now? If not a lot of gas in car then maybe an additive followed by a few gallons of new gas to mix it up. Do you know what the fuel pressure is off the fuel pump?

I poured 6 galons of premium fuel today.
I will check fuel pressure... need to find a guage to do that... I don't have one.

Re: Well... won't start...
if it runs with starting fluid
then its a fuel related problem
ele fuel pump gets power from the double relay
if the fuel supply stuff is all good then it may be your injectors
i dont have FI on mine but im learning

Re: Well... won't start...
Quick question guys... do the FI engines have a fuel port to hook up a fuel pressure gauge??
If that is not the case, what type of fuel pressure tester should I get and where do I hook it up?

Re: Well... won't start...
no test port but my guess is the injectors are all stuck. With todays' gas, it starts to go bad very quickly and the injectors get varnished and stuck.
Re: Well... won't start...
I believe you can hook up a tester to the regulator output on the injector fuel rail.

Re: Well... won't start...
I have taken mine to a fellow that used to work with diesel engines. He cleans them, changes the small mesh filter and flow checks for $25 each. Perhaps a shop specializing in diesels is close and check there.

Re: Well... won't start...
Just sent my entire fuel rail to okinjectors. Would be kinda overkill in your case, but if they have never been done...something to consider. About $128 plus shipping for the entire service.

Re: Well... won't start...
Have you pulled the cold start off and seen if it pushes any fuel for a couple of seconds?
To see if there is a signal to the injectors a noids light will do that. I bought on for about $15 and was for a geo tracker. That size fit and worked great.
Check the injectors... undo the 10mm holding the regulator on and the 4 -10mm holding the injectors in place. With a rag over the starter perhaps a helper will crank while you see what if anything is comming out of the injectors.
If you do pull the whole lot out of the car, perhaps consider changing the injector hoses. They do get brittle and can leak onto the starter and alternator.
