I was/ or am in the process of selling my 1971 fiat spider I am having trouble finding a complete engine or cylinder head gasket for it on eBay or Craigslist. What type of engine do I need to look for?

If you interested in selling without motor I might be interested in coming down to look at it. I seen a few of the pictures on the Facebook link.

Hello,

I think your post is a bit ambiguous. Are you looking for a head gasket or gasket set?

I think I may be in the same boat. I'm trying to rebuild either a 1971 Spider with the 1438 or a 1970 Spider with the 1600. The 1438's piston exploded and I can't find a replacement. The 1600 turns out to completely frozen and is probably headed for the scrap pile. I'm having no luck in finding a cheap rebuildable engine for either. Any suggestions? How easy would it be to put in a domestic four cylinder?

No 1600 deserves to end up in the scap metal pile unless it has a big hole in it!! Where are you at??

Speaking of holes, I have a 1438 with a cracked block, so I also have a set of pistons in good used shape..

I have a complete 1608 engine, super nice, and super clean. Anyone interested? I put another 1608 in a 80 Spider 2000.

Too bad you're not close by. I have a 1608 or two lying around.
