Metric fuel hose question

I am looking to get metric FI-rated fuel hose to replace the original hoses, but I am not where my car is, so I can't measure diameter, and I can't measure how many feet I would need.

I'm thinking 12mm hose from tank to pump, and 8mm from pump up to engine. Is this right?

How many feet should I get, to be on the safe side?

I believe the inside diameter for the piece from the rail to the steel line was 8mm or so. The inside diameter for the lines to the injectors and the cold start injector was 7.5 mm. I got mine from IAP but I'd suspect all the vendors would carry the stuff. I also bought some from a local VW shop.
As for length, the rail to line was about 12-14 inches and the injectors are real close to 2 inches each,coldstart about 4 inches max. Length and diameter at the rear of the car..not sure as I have not replaced those lines myself yet.
A caveat here...I'm old and I'm going by memory

if your going from rear to front aprox 12 feet
2 times 25 feet
and ive heard 5/16 for the big ones and 1/4 for the small
at 12 feet

Isn't there a run of metal fuel line in there, though, or is that just on the carb'ed cars?
