Non air pump timing belt cover

Since I no longer need to pass emissions, I am considering removing the air pump. I have heard the possibility of the pump seizing and wrecking the exhaust valves. So I was wondering if an earlier replacement timing belt cover was available in aluminum, or only plastic like the later spiders.
Thanks,
Derek

The very first Spiders came with metal timing belt covers, no air pump. I don't know if there was ever an 1800 with a non-air pump metal cover; perhaps off a European or Australian car? And I don't know if a cover off a 1400 or 1600 will fit the 1800. I would think not.

I do know that the yellow plastic covers look loads better than the huge air pump cover.
