Hi All,
Working on my turbo conversion and have run into a plumbing issue. My Lancia Thema manifold and turbo sit VERY close to the standard Spider water pump outlet.
Has anyone tried a Lancia Scorpion water pump? Is the pulley on the correct plane? My thinking is that I can fabricate a 90 degree elbow and have the water pump outlet face towards the radiator.
Any thoughts?
Advice is great, pictures would be ideal!!
Cheers,
Jordan

50 views and no thoughts! This is either a really dumb question or I was not very clear!
Maybe a photo will help;

The yellow circle highlights my problem. This is a stock water pump with a Lancia Thema exhaust manifold and turbo installed. As it is, a tight 90 degree silicone elbow MIGHT work although it would so close to the turbo housing that I fear a burn or melt (if that is possible with silicone) or best case excess heat being transferred to the cooling system.
Sooo.... I think a Scorpion, Integrale, Beta, or other water pump may solve this issue. I would build a custom hose to bolt to the lancia water pump outlet.
Any thoughts from the team?
Cheers,
Jordan

A photo is no help if I have to sign in to some windows thing to view it. I think the 50 views may be 50 people that don't know a solution to your problem, I can't imagine too many people would know what a Thema manifold looks like. The pulley fitting on the pump shaft can be pressed or pulled along the shaft a small amount to line up the pulley. If it's too far out you may have to source a pulley with a different belt offset. You could use a metal 90 deg bend instead of silicone, I'd say the radiant heat transfer to the cooling system from the turbo would be minimal in the big scheme of things.

Thanks Mick,
Stupid Microsoft hosting ..... I did not realize it was secured.
Appreciate the thoughts about he pulley shaft and the heat transfer.
Looks like I will be shopping for one!
