Should I be using full vacuum or ported vacuum on the stock vacuum advance from my 1980 Carbed 124 Spider?

normally, ported vacuum. Manifold vacuum can be used in certain circumstances, such as compensating for perf cams

On my 79 equipped with a 34 ADF I drilled a small hole in the throttle plate and installed a small nipple to bleed vacume for the distrbuter advance.
