Thermostat or hose?

Post by Italchic »

My 124 is leaking a little antifreeze where the hose attaches to the thermostat. How do I tell if its just a bad hose or if the thermostat itself is cracked? Should I just replace all the hoses (they're old) and the thermostat just to be on the safe side?

Rubber coolant hoses deteriorate from the inside out and often give no warning before bursting. Rubber coolant hoses should be replaced every 4 years, coolant fluid every 2 years.
