Thermostat twisted in the housing

Since i removed my engine to put the new one, i removed the thermostat to find that he was twist inside with all port open.
That's why it was so easy to burp my system lolll!!!! :cry: Is that a regular problem?

Mine had all the ports open as well. As near as I could determine, the only impact was that the water was always circulating through the radiator so it took longer for the engine to reach a normal operating temperature but was fine once it did.

I'd go and buy a new one, especially living in an cold climate. If you engine is too cold, it will not run right and will use extra fuel.

Is Quebec supposed to be cold :?: :?: :?:
And since my fuel pump is not working for now, the car is very good on fuel :D

A bit cooler than in the Mediteranian isn't it ?
If it ain't goin, and you don't want to take advice, why bother to ask about thermostat ?????????????????

The question was: Is that a regular problem not if i can leave it like that. I will replace it for shure

it sounds like it froze

so thats normal for us BUT!
if youve seen it drill a 1/8th hole in the new thremostat.joe
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)
