Valve shiming on high perf engine?

Post by coise »

Could any body tell me what gap should I leave when I shim my valves on my high perf engine?
I heard 0.010 to 0.012 for the intake and 0.012 to 0.014 for the exhaust.
Thanks.

What cams are you using?
I have a set of Marks FI 274's in my car and they came with a note explaining the overlap ect. and also the clearances..
10 thou intake and 10-12 thou exhaust.

If they supplied the cams, they should have supplied the specs. They'd be the ones I'd be asking this question of.
