Electric vs Mechanical Fuel Pump

Post by WYSpider »

Currently I have an electric fuel pump installed in the trunk and the mechanical fuel pump is still in place with the old lines just hanging there. Are blank plates for mechanical fuel pumps available anywhere? I haven't seen any.

Also are mechanical fuel pumps more reliable or should I just stick with the electric one?

I've had great luck with mechanical fuel pump. cheap, functional and durable. (23 years and 295k miles without a failure)on the other hand, the electric on my FI went out just from sitting. it a no-brainer.
