Carb Issues
Carb Issues
Hey just want to update whomever may be reading.......if you have carb issues like I did I would suggest replacing the cap and roter on the distributor to see if this helps your problems. It really is quiet a quick fix and it may take away what you may think is carb related problem. Just so you know the history of why I say this is my car started running rough at different idle point and I figured it was time for a rebuild on the carb. So after days and hours getting the kit and trying to get the car to run properly I finally brought it to a garage and spent an addition $200. to have the carb properly adjusted. The car definatly ran better than when I was trying to adjust it but it still ran somewhat rough and the mechanic basically said that is all he could do for it unless I wanted to spend another $200. to have him continue to work on it. Took the car home, not happy with how it ran and it really still sounded like carb issues. So anyways a week later the speedo cable rips and I'm on the phone with Vick Auto, well Whomever I talked to was having a day and really did'nt want to send a speedo cable by itself up to North Dakota so he kept asking me what else I needed, I figured I hadn't replaced the cap and roter yet so what the hell throw those on the order also. less than a week later I get the package pick it up replaced the cable and then the cap and roter (just for kicks ) and the car is now running much better than it has in months. Its a cheap fix and who know instead of playing with your carb you might want to start with the cap and roter. Thanks for reading and hope this helps out some other poor soul with carb issues. Rob
