Hi all,

What is the fix for the common seat lean towards the center of the car? The winter, I will have the seats reupholstered and want to fix the problem while I have the seats out of the car.

Weld and reinforce. There is a crack on the back, it'll be easy to see and fix when the covers are off. Wouldn't be a bad idea to reinforce both sides of both seats while you have the covers off.

after the repair, dont pull the top up over your shoulder, just get out, that will solve the problem in the future. note.. the early seats did not break

Dave, What year is your car? Seats changed in 1979. The earlier ones are allegedly more robust, but they have a latch only on the outboard side, so they ultimately lean to the inside. The only long-term fix is a kit from Spider-Point for $150, plus postage from Germany

Ouch that kit from Spider Point is expensive!
What about the people that offer a service like this? Surely its offered somewhere to reinforce the seat backs....

The search must begin!

Monkey at work!
