How do I adjust the automatic choke on my 78 Spider?

It is the stock ADF Weber carb. The choke stays over 1/2 way closed even when warm out. After about 5 minutes of fast idle I can hit the gas and the choke will open all the way. But I am concerned it does not need to be 1/2 closed when the temp out is 80*. (this is before setting the choke by depressing the gas pedal)
