Hello all,

My name is Nathan. Im 18 years old and have been working on Fiats since I was 15. I had a internship at a shop specializing in MG restorations and occasionally we would get a Fiat in, and thats when I really fell in love with them, and thats where I learned the basics of working on them. While working at that shop, I learned, and became pretty good at full interior restorations. I still enjoy working on interiors much more then anything else. My first car was a 1978 124, that got me around, kinda. It didnt last very long before long the engine seized. I also had a X for a couple months, but it was stolen, and now I am with my current Fiat, a 1980 2000. Im not sure how to post pictures here yet, so here is a URL to my facebook album of the 2000. The top pictures are of when I first got it, and the farther down you go, the more recent they get.

I look forward to talking to you guys, and maybe meeting some of you at some events in the future,

Nathan

WELCOME TO THE Forum Nathan, I hate to admit this but I'm not on facebook and have no plans to be. Any chance you can post some pictures another way so we Non-facebook types can see them. It's always more interesting with pictures

Nice car Nathan. That's a lot of pictures. I especially like the smurf tube on the gas lines in the trunk.

Getting some pictures

Post by greenharoguy5 »

Ill try to get some pictures up on photobucket for you guys if I can. And I am going to try and get all the wires and lines in the trunk smurfed out like that. I found a huge roll of the stuff never going to be used in one of my classes a while back. I think that it just makes the trunk look a lot cleaner, and I love the clashing of the colors it provides.

Nathan,

Glad you joined. Wish you were on the East Coast side, I could use some advice about my interior. Tell us a little about your interior work when you have a chance.

Interior Work

Post by greenharoguy5 »

Well, when I first started working in the MG shop, my boss was currently working on 3 cars. 2 of wich were in the middle of the restoration (putting all the new and clean parts back on the car). The 3rd was a red MGB wich had everything done, but the interior, and since I new nothing about MG's he decided that the interior would be the best thing for me to learn first, so he handed me the carpet, the heat sheilding, and the noise silencing stuff and he said get to work. I was pretty pissed, but I understood the basics, so I set off and 4 days later, it was all installed. I was lucky, because that time around, I actually had a carpet kit to work with. He tought me how to rebuild, and upholster a seat, and I did the next one myself. Afterwards, I did a few other things to spruce the inside up. Ever since that first car, Ive loved doing interior work, and now, Im to a level where I can make my own carpet kits that will fit perfectly with carpets that you could buy from home depot. I can do all sorts of things with seats, and I can make everything inside sparkle:) So if there are any guys around were I live that need some help with interior, Ill be more then happy to help out.
