I'm planning to change my oil pan gasket in the future and knocking out the dents in my oil pan and repainting it so it can look pretty. The only problem is do you think its gonna be possible to do if I can't loosen the crossmember, looks to be welded on.
BTW, whats the best way to change the motor mounts. Is an engine hoist needed or can jacks be put under the transmission? Thanks.
Motor mounts and removing oil pan? Welded on crossmember...
Re: Motor mounts and removing oil pan? Welded on crossmember...
you can do it with a small floor jack lifting up on the bellhousing of the Tranny un bolt the motor mounts jack up as far
as possible now remove the pan to get the pan out is a pain you need to turn it and find the play around the oil pump
but it can be done i have 2 times !
Good luck to you

I forgot to add that I have an automatic trans, does that make any difference in jacking up the trans.?
